The Summers

ANIMAL’S GREETINGS

Hello my friends

It’s a rainy day today up here in Maine
and it does no good for me to complain.
Yesterday was nice though.  Christian,
our grandson came Saturday and stayed
the night with us.  Me and him went to
town and got us all Sub sandwiches for
dinner last night and donuts to have for
breakfast today.  When Helena (his mom)
came to pick him up we all had donuts 🙂
Last Sunday night it started snowing and
made for a weird evening.  Of course the
ground was too warm for snow to stick
to it,  so it melted as quickly as it landed.
Tuesday we had a mystery gift left on
our front door steps hehehe.  A shoe box
with a purple table runner in it.  LOL we
found out later that it was one of Judy’s
nieces that dropped off the mystery gift.
Before we found out,  we were both in a
state of confusion trying to figure out
what was going on hehehe.  It seems her
niece Heather and her son Russell were
in a funny mood that day LOL.  Judy had
a doctors appointment Wednesday and I
did as I always do,  I took pictures there
and back hehehe.  I took a few selfies
that night as well LOL.  Friday I did a
few more selfies.  I uploaded a few of
them to Facebook hehehe.  Then when
Helena brought Christian over yesterday
I took a few pictures of them.  Christian
was tinkering with my conga drums and
I got a few pictures of that hehehe.  It’s
actually been a peaceful week around
the Pearce’s Place.  Our new neighbors
are fairly quiet aside from their dog that
they put out on leash time to time I assume
for her to go potty.  Every once in a while
we hear kids playing and sometimes see
them playing ball,  but that’s about it 🙂
Benny barks every time he hears them
moving about and I’ve gotta holler at
him to tell him to hush.  Hopefully one
day he’ll finally get used to them being
there,  that’s of course if they don’t move
off before that happens hehehe.  So far,
our neighbors have changed almost like
the changing of a baby’s diaper hehehe.
I’m holding off this time on getting to
know them.  I’ve met them,  but I really
don’t know much about them just as I
don’t know much about the other kids
that moved into the trailer across the
way.  I do know that they have a little
Chihuahua named Freddy that Benny
has found a friend in.  Benny and Rocky
have yet to of personally met Pebbles
our new neighbors dog.  They spend a lot
of time watching her from a distance
when she’s tied up in back to go potty 🙂
Yeppers,  life here in this little sector of
the world is just a moment of time that
paints itself with seconds with some of
them found peaceful and some are with
dogs barking.   None the less,  it’s not
too bad.  I have had worse hehehe.  Yep,
it can always be worse.  Judy’s heading
up to Eagle Lake tomorrow with her twin
sister Trudy to see their mom for her 85th
birthday.  They’ll visit with their brother
Ricky while they’re there I’m sure.  Me
and the boys will just hang loose together
and maybe if the weather’s not too bad
head out for a field trip.  But it’s supposed
to SNOW and rain tomorrow a little bit,
so we’ll see.  Yes,  snowing this late in
May is sort of weird,  but this is Maine 🙂
Right now at 4:30 PM it’s 52 F degrees.
Tomorrow’s forecast is a high of 46 F.
Like I said,  we’ll see if the weather is
nice enough for a field trip for me and
the boys 🙂  If it’s not raining we might
go.  The snowing part,  doesn’t bother
me and surely not the boys LOL.  They
love the snow and so do I for that matter.
Yesterday was one of the warmest days
that we’ve had this year.  It was in the
upper 70’s nearly 80 F degrees.  It’s
not looking like we’ll have any more of
that for a while,  at least a week or so.
My weather program shows we might
get into the lower 70’s by maybe Friday,
but until then,  beginning tomorrow our
forecast is a high of 46 F with Tuesdays
high of 56,  then Wednesday’s high of
64F and Thursday’s high of 66 F degrees.
LOL just call me the weatherman LOL.
It’s hard to believe that Judy and I have
lived up here now for over 8 years.  It
seems like we just moved up yesterday,
of course aside from it being 8 years :).
People keep asking me if I miss Texas.
Well of course I miss Texas.  That’s my
home state and where I spent over 50
years of my life,  but I don’t miss the heat.
The summers are way too hot for me.
That’s what I like about up here.  It’s not
near as hot during the summers.  Now the
winters are another story hehehe.  They
make Texas winters look like springtime.
LOL,  but the weird part about it is,  I like
it.  I love snow and will often be seen out
rolling around in the snow with the boys
or out taking pictures of the scenery as
it develops with the snowflakes falling.
Yep,  I do find myself more at home up
here than I did down south,  but it gets
back to the fact that I miss my family and
friends.  I also miss being able to drive
down to Port Aransas Texas.  Judy also
misses that.  We spent many wonderful
days down on that southern Texas Isle
as we watched and took pictures of the
sunrise and the waves as they crashed
ashore along with all of the scenes that
occurred each day.  Yep,  we miss those
special times,  but thankfully we have tons
of pictures and videos to help us to relive
those moments.  Still we’re hoping to one
day return to our magical place on that
sandy shore and add more memories to
our collection.  I also want to visit my
family and friends that I haven’t seen in
such a long time.  God willing,  that will
all come to be.  In the mean time,  I guess
I’ll continue as I have and just make the
best of the time I have as best that I can.
Thank You God for allowing me to see
the beauty all around me that I can take
pictures of.  Life isn’t meant to always be
a beautiful sight.  We need the ugly times
to help the beauty to stand out.  Without
our struggles,  our accomplishments will
maybe turn to just a passing day without
the excitement of the gain.  Be thankful
for your struggles,  for they’re what that
help you to grow.  .  Now I believe it’s time
for me to begin my journey back through
all that I’ve written here to see if I can
find a good word or phrase that I can use
for the title for today’s brand new poem.
So,  it’s away I go to that little place of
my recollection that I always like to call
RECOLLECT VILLE.  I think I found a
fairly decent title just a little ways back
in my writing.  I used a form of this title,
but not this form.  So,  here goes nothing
and nothing might be right hehehe,  but
I hope not LOL.

The Summers

Seasons reasons
come and go
with the moments
that will flow.
With the winters
cold and white
there is also
little light.
Spring awakens
giving true
flowers blooming
for our view.
Then the summers
bring their heat
some with many
burning feet.
Across a sandy
shore of time
is the summers
own divine.
Picture paintings
God has done
with the summers
brightest sun.
Then comes autumn
fall is said
leaves are falling
for they’re dead.
Leaving colors
all around
in the trees
and on the ground.
Yet the summer’s
still in view
of what many
wish were true.
Reminiscing
a sandy shore
in the summers
evermore.

Okie dokie,  there ya go.  I hope that made
you smile.  Hey,  all of my poems don’t have
to be serious hehehe.  I write many of them
through memories,  fantasies,  fact or fiction.
That’s one thing about me hehehe.  I write
what ever happens to be on my mind,  be it
whatever it may be LOL.  If you didn’t like
the poem,  then Oh well.  Maybe next week,
but I can’t promise anything hehehehehehe.
So,  I wonder if I have forgotten to tell you
anything.  Hmm,  OH yea,  keep my sister
in law Dena in your prayers.  She’s in the
hospital now due to colon problems.  Her
and the rest of Judy’s sisters are more like
sisters to me than sister in laws.  Please
put Dena on your prayer list.  So what else
is there to tell you?  Hmm,  can’t think of
anything.  So I guess that means it’s time
for me to be telling you what I tell you
almost every week and that is,  I wrote
some more poems and haiku.  Yeppers,
I wrote 10 more poems with 1 being yet
another Christmas poem.  I did though
end up writing 3 extra poems,  so that ups
the amount to 13 poems.  I also wrote 22
more haiku for all of the haiku lovers out
there.  I hope you can find 1 or 2 of either
or both that you like.  Now I believe it’s time
for me to begin my search for that hardly
elusive off switch,  but not before I wish
you a most wonderful weekend or what
that’s left of it and a truly blessings filled
week.  Remember,  Jesus loves you and
we do too.  Now,  where’s that confounded
off switch trying to hide this week LOL?
I guess trying to hide is a of bit stretch for
describing how bad its hiding places are.
LOL like I said.  Hehehe would ya look
there.  Right smack in front of me behind
my Advair AGAIN.  Sheesh,  did you not
get the memo,  that hiding behind an item
that I use quite often might not be the best
place to hide?  You are so freaking lazy 🙂
Gotcha,  see ya CLICK zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

God bless from Bill,  Judy,  Benny,  Rocky
and the spirit of Milo Pearce

P.S  A link to Judy’s new book as at
the end of the journal along with the
others.  Enjoy 🙂

Now it’s on with the poems and haiku
10+3 and 22 hehehehehehehehehehe 🙂

Acquaintance

One’s perception
of things they see
might be what ones
will disagree.
Ones acquaintance
might display
the path ones walk
from day to day.
Just by seeing
ones can’t tell
that acquaintance
very well.
They might surely
hide from you
the way they think
and things they do.
So when meeting
greeting friends
know acquaintance
life depends.

Waiting For Summer

The tick tock of timing
with mindsets galore
are waiting for summer
to come through the door.
Those with their surfboards
and swimsuits for sun
are waiting for summer
to have them some fun.
Time begins moving on
as they are waiting
life in the waters then
anticipating.
Patience is trying
while time frames tick on
while those of the summer
wait for the dawn
Yes there are many that
seek for those waves
waiting for summer
those wonderful days.

Summertime Skies

Beginning by morning
comes such a surprise
as clouds in formation
with summertime skies.
The changes in patterns
are often well kept
found as an ocean
where blue skies have slept.
Scenes turn to paintings
with brushstrokes to see
in the summertime skies
above you and me.
Motions as oceans
the clouds seem to float
daylight to dark night
as a fluffy white boat.
Scenes seem as magic
as they each one comprise
clouds of such beauty
in the summertime skies.

New Limerick Moon

As nighttime comes calling,
the stars come out to play
twinkling as many miracles
in their own little way.
The seasons all react to
the nighttime’s own potion
often as a memoir
of an inquisitive ocean.
A certain style pageantry
has a gift wrapped surprise
as a New Limerick moon
seen with so many eyes.
Starlight becomes glitter
that twinkles in the night
seeming as lightning bugs
found in moonlight.
Then the night’s woken
with the sound of a loon
as nighttime comes calling
on a New Limerick moon.

A Painted Mystery

Written as a journal,
painted as a thought,
time is a doorway
to what one’s forgot.
So as a memoir
of subsequent time
a painted mystery
remembers the mind.
For when we’re older
and cannot remember
a painted mystery
might become an ember.
Seen as a question
with answers to find,
a painted mystery
might help you define.
So with a moments
forgotten history,
time is recalled with
a painted mystery.

Whispers Of Silence

Silence hears voices
as breezes will blow
tree limbs just swaying
the words that they know.
Whispers of silence
as seasons of rhyme
poured out like water
within its design.
Silence is golden,
yet often not found,
for there are whispers
of seasonal sound.
Pages of ages
written as a word
whispers of silence
that nobody heard.
Sometimes the whispers
are just but a frame,
timelessly written
for us to attain.
Whispers of silence
might be just a sound,
that’s within the air
and felt on the ground.
Seasons will whisper
their own little words
maybe as a dewdrop
or a large flock of birds.
Yet many stories
are sometimes intense
filled full of wonder,
whispers of silence.

Throughout Life

Now is a pathway
onto tomorrow
often with sadness,
often with sorrow.
The sands of time
are life as grains
an hourglass
that time attains.
Throughout life
are twists and turns,
often bridges
someone burns.
Lessons doorway
opens wide
throughout life
ones go inside.
Then within them
doors will close
throughout life
the choices chose.
Yet some chances
come with prayer
throughout life
with love and care.
Use those chances,
change your path
from the rocky
journeys wrath.
Find the doorway
true to you
throughout life
the best to do.

Guiding Lights

Captains vessels
sailing true,
day and night
in seas of blue
need the starlight
to be there
guiding lights
that none compare.
Waves come rolling
vessels toss
as the ocean
shows who’s boss.
Captains steer through
crashing seas
guiding lights
make it a breeze.
Yet the ocean
has a way
of tossing rogue
a night or day.
But the captain
strong and true
carry’s onwards
seas of blue.
Stars that twinkle
guide the course
through the heavy
oceans force,
but a lighthouse
might be found
keeping ships from
solid ground.
Miles are gathered
in the nights
with directions
guiding lights.

Escaping Yourself

As life finds you standing
just looking around
seeing the places
that you have been found,
look up to Heaven
and say a little prayer
Lord God please help me
to change my despair.
Time can be endless
in view from within
and escaping yourself
needs you to begin.
Look now for new days
as life moves along
and let loose of hateful
to find a new dawn.
Escaping yourself
can be done with time
to find then a new you
with better design.
Sometimes our pathways
that found us so young
stuck with us always
and all that’s among.
Yet if you start now
and dust off the shelf
you can find new days
escaping yourself.

Beyond The Season

Snow seasons over,
but memories live on
beyond the season
of winter now gone.
Even those wonderful
Christmas songs sung
live now within me
as blessings were brung.
Time shows a pathway
to now and agin
beyond the season
of sweet winters wind.
Christmas is still now
in my memories
as all of the lights
and great Christmas trees.
Yesterdays shadows
are always on mind
painted as pathways
of great Christmastime.
For I can still always
recall the reason
Christmas through Jesus Christ
beyond the season.

As Time Rolls Along

Our yesterdays memories
are often misled
the way we remember
inside of our head.
The past paints a picture
we might misconceive
as time rolls along
in the way we believe.
Some will look back
on their lives long ago
and see a better life
than truth did bestow.
Yes you may have played
and had some great fun,
but the past has a way of
distorting what’s done.
So don’t let today
to be filled with regret
for the best might become
what you haven’t yet.
The past you remember
might have some great times,
but you were so young
seeing nickels and dimes.
The future that’s before you
might have a surprise,
a life that’s much better
that’s for your two eyes.
So don’t let the sunrise
to lose you at dawn,
for there are some good times
as time rolls along.

A Life of Years

A stories written
without ink
a life of years
the way we think.
The pages turn
with many blank
leaving many
shirts to yank.
Travels journeyed
far and wide
might be footprints
wished to hide.
A life of years
with many paths
might have sadness
and some laughs.
Look for goodness
not just tears
written in
a life of years.

Inflamed

Times of troubles,
times of pain,
many moments
seem insane.
Torments doorway
opens wide
letting troubles
come inside.
Though so often
times might be
inflamed moments
history.
Only portions
counted true
of the painful
within you.
Yet our eyesight
might not see
all the good
in you and me.
Look to find what’s
best inside
lifetimes roadway
for a ride.
See the good times
oh so clear
of the now
and yesteryear
Though so many,
times will find
rougher roads
with burdened mind.
Certain pathways
are attained
showing only
what’s inflamed.

Haiku
May 13,  2016

Amidst a storm cloud
a rainbow might coexist
to show good and bad.

Life in a mirror
might portray what that ones see,
but hide what’s within.

A journey through flowers
will enhance your love for life,
but beware of thorns.

Scenes time’s created
can change at a moments notice
by God’s Hands of time.

Effortless snowflakes
fall down as frozen water
and become beauty.

The simplest moments
are the ones that many miss,
because they are so small.

The travels of wind
begin wherever whenever
God so desires.

With mornings sunlight
comes choices for ones to make
to begin the day.

Essence of beauty
is not only what we see,
but what we don’t see.

Some people are blind,
seeing only others views
and don’t seek the truth.

The book of our lives
needs to have pages of growth
with our lessons learned.

Using a minute
to give time for more seconds
will surely catch up.

Yesterdays today
may have looked like misfortune,
but that day is gone.

Facts of a liar
have no beneficial hope
for they will not live.

Themes of a garden
can be pretty rose petals
or vines of ivy.

Windy afternoons
leave a mark upon the day
that leads to nighttime.

Cherished are mountains
that stand so tall with beauty
for someone to paint.

Times varieties
comes as raindrops to snowflakes
and even some hail.

Withholding info
that would help someone to grow
might fall back on you.

Simple melodies
can become the meat of life
as a song to sing.

A tall scarecrow
might not scare a away crows,
but just welcome them.

A glance at our past
often shows us regretful,
which should be thankful.
