A Common Ground

ANIMAL’S GREETINGS

Hello my friends

How have you been? We’ve been doing Ok with just
a few days in the 80’s thank God. Today it’s supposed
to be a high of 82F degrees which it is at this moment.
The rest of the week is supposed to be in the mid 70’s
or thereabouts. We might get a little rain today and
on through Tuesday. Judy, Benny and I went over to
Dennis and Trudes (Judy’s sister) yesterday for a cook
out. Benny had a blast playing with all of the dogs LOL.
There were 6 dogs in all including Benny. Two of them
were her sister Barbara’s and two were Dens and Trudes,
leaving one owned by Den and Trudes son. Yep, there
were dogs running all over the place. Hehehe big ones,
tall ones, tiny ones and small ones. Benny was one of
the small ones hehehe. Willow was the tiny one being
she’s a 5 month old Yorkie. The dogs played until they
were all panting from exhaustion hehehe. I had to come
home rather early being I had all of my poems needing
to be written and I had not yet begun writing them hehe.
Judy and Benny stayed there visiting with her sisters
until almost midnight LOL. Benny was one pooped lil
pup when he got home. Speaking of a tired pup, Benny
just strolled in yawning and stretching hehehe. I picked
him up and gave him a hug and then laid him in Judy’s
PC chair to catch a little more sleep hehehe. Judy’s still
in bed asleep, but I figure she’ll be up in a little while.
Benny was just looking over at me as if saying, hey you
are way too far away, so I rolled Judy’s chair over here
next to me hehehe. He’s happy now 🙂 I’m keeping the
light off so he can rest, so I’m having to type in the dark.
No I do not have an illuminated keyboard hehehe. Wish
I did though, but this is one of those times that I’m glad
I know how to type hehehe. I do mess up often and hit the
wrong keys, but I catch it from time to time hehehehehe.
This is one reason I like to have Judy go over what I’ve
written before I send it, but often that doesn’t happen
and it gets sent with all of the typo’s LOL. Right now
as I look outside, it looks like rain, but only a chance
for a sprinkle or two hehehe. I’m trying to keep tabs
on it, being we have a lot of windows opened to let in
a breeze. Nope, we haven’t got an air conditioner. The
one that came with the house that’s built into the living
room wall quit working 4 years ago and isn’t worth
fixing, being we don’t stay in the living room and for
it to air condition the whole house it would run up a
rather hefty light bill that we cannot afford. So we just
have a lot of fans strewn through the house. They do
a fairly descent job. All of our windows open side to
side and will not suffice a window unit and portable AC’s
cost way too much. Oh well, we’ll survive. It’s not like
we have summers that last a long time like down Texas
ways. Nope, summertime is actually nearing its end up
here and may be done in a few weeks to a month hehe.
It may last longer, but God only knows the answer to
that question. Well it’s 2:30 PM and about time for me
to give Judy her wake up call hehehe. She was also
tuckered out from the long stay at her sisters house.
I had to rub her down with Benadryl, being she had
heat rashes all over her neck and shoulders from being
out in the sun. I always found me some shade to hide
in LOL. I know a few might of thought I was being an
antisocial, but the ones who knew me well, know that
I get dehydrated easily and therefore cannot sit in the
sun for a long extended amount of time. I do love this
breeze that’s blowing in at the moment 🙂 Benny’s still
sleeping in Judy’s PC chair right beside me. He likes
to be close to us. I’ve gotta give him another trimming
today as well as a bath. He’s been scratching a lot
since he got back yesterday. Time for a flee and tick
bath hehehehe. I thank God for giving us Benny and
allowing us to be a family. Benny’s the little boy that we
never had. People may laugh, but we love our little
boy and he loves us. The settings for a blessing might
be right in front of your eyes, but you may not see it
because it’s not what you wanted. Often we will not
see the blessings until we get to that right place in time
to where our eyes are opened. Sometimes the blessings
will stay in wait for years until we are in the right frame
of mind to see them. Mine were uncovered over 22
years ago when I sobered up. I saw how I had been
using my many blessings all the while, but just hadn’t
noticed them. Some call my poetry a gift, but I call it
a blessing, because it was one of the things that helped
me to set in motion a new life. I had been writing all
of my life, but never had truly seen the words that I
had written down until I was ready. When I was a kid
I wrote my emotions down on paper, but never truly
understood what I had written. It took many years of
God’s preparation for me to get to where I needed to
be so that I understood the blessings. Also my many
blessings are my family. God blessed me with a mom
and dad that loved me no matter what. My dad gave me
the influencing that I needed to further my many abilities.
We became the best of friends on the last years of his
life. We were much more than father and son. God
had blessed us with a common ground that connected
us. Not just being my dad, but having the same health
issues that almost took my life in 1995. We sat and
talked about silliness of our lives and had some laughs.
Thank you God for that. Now, have you got a moment
that you may be overlooking that might be the blessings
that God has given you? Look around you and look
with clear eyes, not just filled with regrets. Right now
could be shining blessings from God that you never
knew existed, because you were too focused on other
things. OK, so I reckon it’s time for me to begin my
little search back through all that I’ve written here to
see if I can find a good word or phrase that might work
for the title for today’s brand new poem. So, it’s away
I go to that little place of my recollection that I like to
call RECOLLECT VILLE. I think I might of stumbled
upon a good title just little ways back. Hehehe it’s close
to another title I used a few years ago, but when you’ve
written over 7000 poems it starts getting hard to come
up with new titles LOL. I just added (A) to the title to
make it different hehehe. So here goes with the poem.

A Common Ground

When your situations
only show true
things in your eyesight
that live within you.
Seek a common ground
through your now today
as you tarry on then
on your merry way.
Find a common ground
within the ones you see
and find the many blessings
through your history.
Don’t be so judgmental
that you only find
the ones right before you
standing out of line.
Look and find a likeness
that could live in you
and a common ground then
might just clear your view.

Well, I hope that made at least little bit of sense to you.
Benny just heard Judy get up and go to the bathroom and
he hopped out of the chair to go and greet her. Judy and
Benny are now in here with Benny plopping down in his
little bed in the floor beside me LOL. Now he’s moved to
the other side of me in the floor near the door. So I guess
it’s about time for me to be telling you what I tell ya every
week and that is, I wrote some more poems and haiku.
Yeppers, 10 more poems, but none are Christmas poems
this week. Hehehe maybe next week. Also 22 more haiku
for all of the haiku lovers out there. I hope you enjoy them.
Ok, so now I reckon it’s getting near the time for me to be
searching for that blasted off switch that loves to elude me,
but not before I wish you all a most wonderful God filled
week. Remember, Jesus loves you and we do too. Now,
to find that off switch. I see ya down there making as a
shadow of Benny hehehe. Gotcha, see ya CLICK zzzzzzz.

God bless from Bill and Judy Pearce

Now on with the poems and haiku
10 and 22 hehehehehehehehehehe 🙂

P.S. 2 of the poems are sort of silly named
A Spiders Day and Tinted Shades hehehe
ENJOY 🙂
Oh yea hehehe P.S. again
Benny turned 1 year old July 16th 🙂

Weathered Souls

The weathered souls
of time gone by
may be asking
how and why.
Things they’ve seen
throughout their days
now just seem
just like a haze.
Things have changed
of which they’ve seen
as some pages
running stream.
The weathered souls
now seek release
while they wait for
time to cease.
Heavens doors
of journeyed miles
give the weathered
souls some smiles.

A Little Breeze

A simple sign
of breezes blowing
signifies
which way they’re going.
A little breeze
so sweet each day
brings us in
a cooling way.
For with sunshine’s
essence heat
a little breeze
can then defeat.
As each stage is
set to see
a little breeze
is given free.
Yet on some days
summers seas
it’s real hot
without a breeze.

Tainted Windows

When we’ve driven
minds desire
limitless with
tainted fire,
windows viewed
from where we stand
might just be
our sinking sand.
Tainted windows
that we’ve found
might just echo
all around.
So when tainted
is all you see,
look for peace
that’s given free.
God will give a
better sight
if you’ll seek for
what that’s right.
Then the tainted
pages turned
will just be
your lessons learned.

A Spiders Day

He crawls up
and then crawls down
as he crawls then
all around.
A spiders day
begins with time
in it’s web
of its design.
It might be
just hanging there
awaiting for
someone to scare.
Yet its journey
to and fro
often ends with
bitter flow.
Someone filled
with water play
then might end
that spiders day.
It might fall
and crawl no more
as it lies there
on the floor.
A spiders day
might then be seen
as a rushing
bitter stream.

Find God’s Blessings

With a mind
that can not see
there is hidden
what that’s free.
Things each day
that are displayed
given freely
Jesus made.
If you’re always
with closed mind
only sadness
you will find.
Let God’s glory
shine on you
and show then
what’s really true.
Don’t let sadness
to impart.
Find God’s blessings
in your heart.

A Tree of Time

There’s this little
tree of time
that now lives
so small and fine.
It grows slowly
with each day
even if it’s
winters way.
It might slow down
resting true,
but it’s growing
with its view.
It might seem
not so alive,
but it surely
seeks to thrive.
For it’s journeys
days design
is to be
a tree of time.

A Feather Floats

Sitting watching
waves in reach
on an island
with a beach,
I could see
some tiny boats
seeming as
a feather floats.
In the waves
they’d toss and turn
as a feather
I discern.
Oh so graceful
in the sea
the boats got closer
then to me.
They’re not tiny
not at all,
for they’re ships
with mast so tall.
Yet they seemed as
tiny boats
looking as
a feather floats.

Peaceful Surrender

Moments might burden
us with a frown,
but you can turn it
then upside down.
Peaceful surrender
of moments detail
can often keep us
from living in Hell.
So often burdens
will come unto us
littered with moments
we sought not discuss.
But surely friendship
can help you get by
giving you peaceful
surrender reply.
Let Jesus help you
to find what you need,
peaceful surrender
in His Holy Seed.

In The Dark

Without the light
the darkness finds
often worries
in our minds.
In the dark
the things become
shadows found
that make ones run.
Don’t let darkness
give you fear,
for Lord God
is always near.
Let not fear for
things not seen
keep you from
a heartfelt dream.
Find some peace
to now embark
as Lord Jesus
in the dark.

Tinted Shades

While walking on
my journeys way
I dawned my shades
a sunny day.
My tinted shades
that I put on
paved the way
soon after dawn.
I strolled out
while walking fast
seeking for my
shadows cast.
Yet when I was
looking down
my tinted shades
fell to the ground.
I then saw
my shadow clear
laughing loud
that I could hear,
for my tinted
shades of time
had just fallen
on a dime.
I picked it up
and then strolled on
with tinted shades
and all alone.

Haiku
for July 21, 2012

Beyond our today
is a tomorrow to find
requiring today.

Leaping too quickly
could land you on lily pads
that are not alive.

Happiness is found
through today’s perseverance
of what that is right.

Leftover heartache
can cause a marriage to fail,
so get over it.

A cool summers breeze
blows briskly on a high hill
giving a new breath.

Morning awakens
when night has fallen asleep
with stars in the sky.

Often our lessons
live as turmoil remembered,
we’d like to forget.

Our answers to prayer
might not be what we wanted,
but they are answers.

Peace seen as blessings
could be just a tricky way
for Satan’s entrance.

Untruthful heartbeats
can mess with your perception
and leave you empty.

A glimmer of now
lived in yesterdays windows.
So did you see it?

Everyone’s had dreams,
but many turned to nightmares
due to ignorance,

Playing with fire
might bring you many problems
that you can’t handle.

The meanings of words
are sometimes with confusion
due to perception.

Praying for blessings
will need you to be ready
for what God gives you.

Within the darkness
you might hear much commotion
but God is with you.

Leaves on maple trees
now grow back with their colors
awaiting for fall.

The breaking of twigs
gives me the sounds that I need
to turn and to run.

Doing the dishes
gets them ready for supper
and then on to bed.

Lingering odors
of flowers from faraway
now live in my mind.

Breaking the silence
will often cause ones to fear
the sounds that they heard.

An hours minute
thrives as a second of time
that ticks fluently.
