The Measure

ANIMAL’S GREETINGS

Hello my friends

This last week or more has been fairly nice.
Especially Monday 🙂  Judy and I took that
trip I spoke of week before last.  You know!
The trip down to Baxter St. Park.  It’s about
60 miles south of us near Medway.  It goes
through Millinocket and Patton Maine. We
made a day of it.  The boys spent the day at
Katahdin Kritters.  I’m sure they made many
new friends.  We took tons of pictures LOL.
As if you thought we could go there and just
look at the view HaHaHa.  It was a beautiful
day.  Just enough clouds in the sky to be as
decor.  It was so beautiful there and the park
ranger told us that we should come back in
the fall,  because the colors are spectacular.
So,  I guess you know where we’re heading
as soon as the colors start changing in a few
months hehehe.  Judy did her picture window
last week and it came out rather nice.  She
used one of our old photos from our favorite
place Port Aransas TX for the picture.  She
also got some curtains for it and now all I
have to do is figure out where to hang it 🙂
I know how I’m gonna hang it and we have
sort of picked out a place to hang it.  It’s
just that it will be a struggle to hold it and
get it even while I’m screwing it to the wall.
I’ll git-r-done.  Oh and for those of you not
versed in Larry The Cable Guy’s phrases,
it means I’ll get it done LOL.  So what else
has gone on around the Pearce’s Place?
Well,  Judy has begun to try her hand at
painting.  She bought her a table top easel
and some paints.  She’s been practicing on
our table in the living room.  I think she’s
doing very good,  myself.  Practice might
not make perfect,  but it will become much
better.  My poetry isn’t perfect,  but as the
years pass,  I do get better hehehe or so I
seem to think 🙂  Back to our pictures that
we took last Monday.  There was so much
to take pictures of,  that Judy and I were
just spinning in circles with our cameras,
giving them a complete work out hehehe.
Then after me weeding out blurry pictures
Judy had 113 left and I had 234 left which
is the equivalence of 347,  but there were
still a few duplicates being we were often
taking pictures of the same thing LOL 🙂
So I picked out 78 photos out of the 347
and uploaded them to my Facebook.  I’ll
use a few out of that 78 for my stationery.
LOL  it will be hard though.  There are
so many gorgeous pictures.  She took a
few of me and I took a few of her in the
scenery.  It’s been raining off and on a
bit today.  We had to time it just right to
put the boys out to go potty hehehe.  They
don’t like rain.  Snow,  they love.  Rain,
they hate.  I understand one of the reasons
they hate the rain.  It’s because they’ve
got a lot better hearing than us and the
rain is loud as hits their heads.  But one
of our boys main reasons for hating the
rain is not liking to get wet.  They don’t
mind it if I’m giving them a bath.  They
love the shower and it is, I’m sure, maybe
almost as loud as the rain.  Anyways,
next topic.  Judy has found she has some
more health issues that her doctor has
prescribed more medication for.  We’re
hoping that in a month or so,  she will
be feeling better.  She’s been having a
stomach ache and a sore throat.  I am
sure the medicine will heal her.  We’re
hoping that the rain slacks off soon so
that the ground will dry up enough for us
to go bike riding in the field.  Right now
our bikes are getting washed with the
daily rains.  I had been covering them,
but I don’t think a little rain is going to
hurt them LOL.  I have plenty of 3 in
1 oil and a can of motor oil to lube them
up if needed 🙂  Today’s temperature is
fairly nice.  Right now at 3:30 PM it’s
61F degrees and the high for today is
supposed to be 64 F.  The rest of the
week is supposed to be in the lower to
upper 70’s.  Still,  not too bad.  Judy’s
going to her daughter’s house tomorrow
to get her hair done.  Mandy is gonna
cut it for her and then Helena’s son
Christian is coming back with Judy to
spend some time with us.  I think one
of his reasons for liking to come over
here is for our internet LOL.  They
don’t have internet other than on their
phones.  Judy and I have DSL hehehe.
We do have a blast watching gaming
videos on my computer though.  Some
of them are hilarious.  There has not
been much of anything else going on
around this place.  The boys are doing
well.  They’re like four legged alarm
clocks LOL.  Every day around noon,
no matter if we didn’t get to bed until
around 4 or 5 AM,  they will jump up
on Judy’s side of the bed and begin their
wake up call hehehe.  You notice I said
Judy’s side of the bed LOL.  That is
the side of the bed that their beds are
on 🙂 plus the few times that they tried to
sleep on my side of the bed,  they often
got stepped on because I didn’t see them
LOL.  I have no colon and no I do not
have a colostomy bag.  That was an
unsuccessful operation attempt and it
made my surgeon have to try another
surgery that he was the only one that had
ever performed,  which was a reversal.
It entailed connecting the small intestines
that I had left to my rectum.  I have but
only 2 3rds of my small intestines left
and no colon.  So,  you see,  I spend a lot
of time running back and forth to the
bathroom with 24 7 diarrhea LOL UGH.
So now you have been informed hehehe.
Welcome to my world LOL.  It’s OK,
I’ve been dealing with this since 1995,
so it’s nothing new.  It just hinders the
things that I am able to eat such as
veggies.  There are many vegetables
such as lettuce that I cannot eat.  It
does not digest well and what goes
in a leaf a lettuce,  comes out as a leaf
of lettuce LOL.  The same with spicy
sauces and foods which I always try
to steer away from,  if ya know what
I mean hehehe.  So,  that’s about all
about my digestive system.  Like you
actually wanted to know HaHaHaHa.
God has given me the ability to handle
a lot of pain and therefore many of
the things I endure are things that you
or others might not be able to withstand.
Each of us with our portion of struggles
may feel that the measure is way too
great,  but God will not put upon you
more than you can handle.  Now we
ourselves will often put upon our own
selves more than we can handle,  but
that is not God’s doing.  Yet,  God is
always there to give us the strength
to endure our own stupidity in hopes
of us seeing the flaws and changing
our ways.  OK,  so enough with the
rambling. Now it’s time for me to take
my little trip back through all that I’ve
written here to see if I can find a good
word or phrase that I can use for the
title for today’s brand new poem.  So,
it’s away I go to that little place of my
recollection that I always like to call
RECOLLECT VILLE.  I believe that
I may have stumbled on a decent title
just a few lines back.  Now to see if
I can do anything with it.  Here goes 🙂

The Measure

Our time in a window
might be distorted
the echoes that we find
our lives have reported.
The measure of a scene
from daylight to dark
might show us a portion
with a woeful remark.
The times of our minds
that we look on to see
show the measures of now
and our history.
Yet often our involvement
will elude what we find
as the measure displays
the correct point and time.
Our time is a fraction
of actions in frame
the measure’s then counted
as times we attain.
God gives us choices
and voices to choose
the measure of our lives
to win or to lose.

There ya go.  I hope the poem makes a
little bit of sense to ya.  Also I hope you
enjoyed my rambling of course I reckon
you could of done without my explanations
of my health LOL.  OH well,  life goes on.
The house is still quiet as Rocky is lying
in the floor right beside me in a doggie
bed. Benny is in the living room lying on
his favorite recliner.  I don’t think they
got much sleep last night due to me and
my many visits to the bathroom.  I took
a couple of aspirins last night in hopes
of them easing the pain in my shoulders
and legs,  but all they did was kick my
d******a into overdrive.  If you can’t
figure out the word,  then GOOD LOL.
News on my sister.  She’s had the last of
her radiation treatments.  Keep her in
your prayers.  My mom said that she
seemed to be doing well.  A bit weak,
but doing well.  Rocky just got up out
of his bed to tell us he’s gotta go potty,
so Judy has gone to let him and Benny
out.  It’s still raining a little bit,  but it
doesn’t mean they cannot go out to go
potty LOL.  They won’t melt.  We’ve
tried that indoor potty pad,  and all it
was good for was a chew toy for Benny.
He kept ripping up the pads so we just
gave the thing away.  I’m fairly sure
that Rocky would of done the same
being he loves to pull the tissues out
of the tissue boxes and tear them up
along with getting up on our bed and
tossing our pillows off into the floor.
LOL he be just a bit feisty hehehehe,
but we love him.  Benny loves his little
brother too.  Of course Rocky is not
really smaller than Benny LOL.  Just
younger.  Rocky is a little bit bigger
than Benny.  So now I guess it’s time
for me to tell you what I tell you every
week or at least almost every week 🙂
and that is,  I wrote some more poems
and haiku.  Yeppers,  I wrote 10 more
poems with 1 being a Christmas poem.
I wrote 2 extra poems.  1 is a birthday
poem to my granddaughter Sami and
the last one is dedicated to one of my
Facebook groups.  I also once again
wrote 22 more haiku for all the haiku
lovers out there.  I hope you can find
1 or 2 of either or both that you like.
Now to begin my search for that not
so elusive off switch,  but not before
I wish you a most wonderful weekend
or whatever’s left of it and a truly
awesome week.  Remember,  Jesus
loves you and we do too.  Ok,  where
are ya hiding you little off switch?
Come on,  you’ve gotta be kidding me.
Hiding behind the red utility knife. It’s
hardly large enough for you to hide
your screws LOL.   Try harder will ya.
Gotcha,  see ya CLICK zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

God bless from Bill,  Judy,  Benny,  Rocky
and the spirit of Milo Pearce

P.S  A link to Judy’s new book as at
the end of the journal along with the
others.  Enjoy 🙂

Now it’s on with the poems and haiku
10+2 and 22 hehehehehehehehehehe 🙂

That Birthday Girl

Today’s the day
so great and fine
that birthday girl
granddaughter of mine.
She’s grown older
and wiser too
that birthday girl
we love so true.
The days have passed
and found her stars
a heart that twinkles
in all of ours.
She has her struggles,
but smiles anyway
bringing us joy
and brightens our day.
That birthday girl
our Sami so sweet
is now 16
granddaughter elite.

A Bitter Pill

Scenes awaken
less a thrill
when remembered
a bitter pill.
Time then journeys
sought to find
a bitter pill
and reason why.
Seconds counted
that portray
a bitter pill
of yesterday.
Times remembered
can find true
a bitter pill
that teaches you.
Better choices
can fulfill
the lesser of
a bitter pill.

Deep As An Ocean

Heartbeats within ones
might be fathoms while
that ones think as empty,
but don’t know their style.
Deep as an ocean
a heartbeat might sway
within a mere time frame
we know not the way.
So deep they might be
as their heartbeats are found
that you think they’re only
a rock barren ground.
So many people
will hold deep within
their love for another
for fear they can’t win.
Time then is endless
with heartbeats in motion
found as a time frame
deep as an ocean.

A Rainy Day In Maine

Raindrops are falling
and singing a tune
a pitter patter sound
from morning to noon.
Then as the evening
is coming in sight
a rainy day in Maine
continues through night.
Sweet smells of raindrops
encompass our home
with rain showers falling
as Heaven’s cologne.
A rainy day in Maine
gives forth a great scene
making the tree leaves
so fervently green.
Even the flowers
take in every drop
as the rain keeps falling
to land right on top.
The summertime showers
I do not complain
for it makes me happy
a rainy day in Maine.

Sacrificed Time

Watching and waiting
for now and agin
can become lessons
to lose or to win.
Sacrificed moments
to gather your gain
might become troubles
to drive you insane.
Now will soon pass by
and become as the past
leaving the shadows
of thoughts that will last.
Sacrificing moments
for what that you want
might become horror
to come back to haunt.
Sometimes it’s better
for wantings decline
and seek for the blessings
not sacrificed time.

Limits Of Life

Now’s the beginning
and ending design
found after patterns
of moments of time.
So many limits are
just of our ways
often the choices
we’ve chosen on days.
Limits of life
might just be scenes
within our journeys
and many routines.
Today brings a time
to lessen the chains
the limits of life
preventing our gains.
Now is a portion
of life buttered knife
choosing much better
the limits of life.

A Stormy Mind

The thoughts we think
as ways to choose
a stormy mind
might light a fuse.
A page less book
that has no words
a stormy mind
might fill with birds.
Raindrops falling
thinking so true
a stormy mind
can be skies of blue.
It’s just the moment
time frames expose
a storm mind
might end as a rose.
The essence planted
within the brain
a stormy mind
might show some rain.
With every second
counted and seen
a stormy mind
can become a dream.
Losing the horror
of each design
life can show rainbows
in a stormy mind.

Within These Walls

Heartbeats of moments
within these walls
echo as a journey
down the halls.
Scenes as a memoir
become such a place
within these walls
a smiling face.
Time turns to shadows
scenes found displayed
words of a heartbeat
time frames have made.
Life becomes pages
found in a book,
stories of moments
we may have mistook.
Scenic are memories
our mindset recalls
as the truth lives on
within these walls.

The Bells Of Christmas

Right now inside my mind
I seek for that place
some white snow falling
down on my face.
The glimmer of Christmas
that’s found in the nights
lit up on some houses
those great Christmas lights.
The bells of Christmas
are also heard clear
in the songs of joy
for that time of year.
Songs on the radio
playing so fine
those tunes that I love
about Christmastime.
Each minute as magic
filled full of joy
with the love for Christmas
in each girl and boy.
The Christmas tree standing
with lights all aglow
and even with a touch of
some spray on snow.
Ornaments shining
in wonderful ways
and a manger scene
with wondrous amaze.
Jesus as a baby
in a small bed of straw,
the bells of Christmas
fill me with awe.
Yet now as I look
I see summertime,
but Christmas lives on
inside of my mind.
So many memories
from young unto old
bring forth every moment
much greater than gold.
The bells of Christmas
should live in us all
forever and ever
from winter to fall.

Ageless Time

A forest of minutes
might seem unchanged
as others see it
a bit rearranged.
Thoughts remembered
seem with a style
an ageless time
a wonderful while.
Those childhood days
that you remember
are now but only
a burning ember.
That ageless time
from then unto there
lives on and on
that none compare.
Those wonderful times
of long ago
are ageless time
as fallen snow.
Some wondrous events
that you recall
a time,  a design,
a bouncing ball.
There’s nothing wrong
with memories
of greatest days
and deepest seas.
The minutes live on
within our mind
as but a moment of
ageless time.

A Morning Comes

Night displays
a starry sky
that so many
wonder why.
A minute passes
time’s consumed
morning’s found
to be attuned.
A morning comes
to show its way
after night has
gone away.
Time ticks on
as moments scheme
a morning comes
to end a dream.
Sleep is ended
sunshine bright
a morning comes
to give a sight.
Life starts sounding
birdies chirping
what the morning
is inferring.
Time to wake up
and move on
a morning comes
the break of dawn.

A Soul Searcher

Seeking for others
searching through time
I’m a soul searcher
caught in a rhyme.
Now is a rhythm
beating so true
as I,  a soul searcher
seek ones like you.
Time is a doorway,
to so many ways
that a soul searcher
might find some grays.
Yet with much patience
a soul searcher finds
ones of alikeness
same sort of minds.
Then as time billows
our hearts might connect
to a soul searcher
of a loving affect.

Haiku
for Aug 13,  2016

Today is a day
that give chances for better,
but it’s up to us.

Meandering lives
find ghostly moss upon them
showing confusion.

Patient ones of time
might find much better conclusions,
or might find worse fate.

Looks of a dreamer
shine as a world of hopeful,
but need to get real.

Challenge of flowers
are blooms of a mystery
that only they know.

A quick turn in life
could cause you much confusion,
where a slow turn helps.

With mornings raindrops
comes the hope for many flowers
to show their colors.

Beyond our insight
lives the things we do not know,
for God only knows.

In a field of dreams
holds a mysterious sight
that eyes hope to see.

Life is a journey
that many create problems
out of the good things.

The Earth is our home
while many choose to end it
with their stupidity.

Space and time ventures
should be as necessity,
not just to explore.

Near and beyond us
are places we’ll never go,
but we can dream of.

Within an ocean
holds many voices of time
as vessels sail on.

One minute of night
can be a fathomless sea
to someone in fear.

Daylight shines brightly
while nighttime is soon to come
and disperse starlight.

Books without knowledge
might seem to be without need,
but they rest the mind.

Someone’s beating heart
can become a drummers drum
filled with their desire.

The shower of starlight
explodes upon a dreamer
as sleep finds its way.

Chance is a time
that comes within its moment,
which many won’t see.

Without our right nows
our minutes of thereunto
cannot be displayed.

Loss can be a gain
if the loss is of sadness,
so look for the joy.
